Deal Racquet Club is a recreational tennis league. This page says what this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It is meant to be read.
The short version
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing. We collect what the league needs in order to run: who is playing, how to reach you, and what the score was.
What we collect
Because you gave it to the club. Your name, and whatever contact details you gave the commissioner — usually an email address and a mobile number, and sometimes a photograph. The dates you tell us you cannot play. Your match results, which is to say the scores.
Because you visited the site. The ordinary things a web server records: the address of your device (your IP address), the approximate location that address suggests — this is geolocation, and it is rarely more precise than a town or a region — the kind of device and browser you used, which pages you opened, and when. We may collect and use this information to keep the site working, to understand which parts of it are used, and to protect it from abuse.
We do not ask your browser for your precise location, and the site has no advertising trackers on it.
Cookies
The public pages of this site do not need cookies and do not set any for tracking. An administrator who signs in gets one cookie that keeps them signed in, and nothing else.
What the league publishes
A league is a public thing. Your name, your tier, your results, your standing and any photograph you gave the club appear on the public pages of this site, because that is what the site is for. Your email address, your phone number and the dates you marked unavailable are not published — they are visible only to the commissioner.
Messages we send
If you gave the club a mobile number, we may message you about your own matches: when one is scheduled, a reminder before you play, and a request for the dates you cannot make. Message frequency varies with the season, and is typically a few messages a month. Message and data rates may apply. To stop, reply STOP to any message or tell the commissioner, and we will remove your number. For help, reply HELP or contact the commissioner.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Who else sees any of it
Nobody, other than the companies that run the site for us — the hosting and database provider that stores it, and the messaging provider that delivers the messages above. They act on the club's instructions and for no purpose of their own. We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise share your information with anyone else, for marketing or for anything else, and we never will.
We would disclose information if the law actually required it of us.
How long we keep it
Results and standings are kept as the league's record, which is the point of having them. Contact details are kept while you are in the league and for as long afterwards as it takes to run the next season. Ask and we will remove them sooner.
Your choices
Ask the commissioner and we will tell you what the club holds about you, correct it, or delete what we are not obliged to keep. Ask us to stop messaging you and we will.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. A junior playing in the league is entered by a parent or guardian, who should contact the commissioner with any concern.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page and the date above changes with it.
